Safe in the wet

Safe motoring requires that motorists must be able to satisfactorily brake and stop during normal motoring and weather conditions. In wet conditions, enabling the quick removal of water from between the tyre and road is vital. Negatively textured and porous asphalts allow surface water to drain away through as well as over the material, reducing splash and spray and providing grip for the tyre.
