Smooth asphalt pavements contribute to fuel consumption savings
Just about everyone likes the more comfortable ride that comes from driving on smoother pavements. Asphalt Pavements can be built with tailored surfaces for a safe, comfortable and cost effective ride. Paving an asphalt road with a changed surface texture from rough (0/16) to fine (0/6) it is estimated that fuel consumption and CO2-emissions can be reduced in a range of 2-3%.

On 16-17 December 2020, EAPA and the research project PavementLCM co-organised a webinar on the Sustainability Assessment of Asphalt Pavements, which gathered more than 150 experts from 35 countries around the world. In this video, Dr Breixo Gomez, EAPA Technical Director and Prof. Davide LoPresti, Coordinator of PavementLCM, summarise the highlights of the Webinar and discuss how to further develop the topic in future events.
